Queens supporting queens: WDDI celebrates pride
Beginning in 2017, Friends With Benefits decided it was time to extend our reach to a community that does profound work for our citizens, but receives little praise or support. Thus, We Denton Drag It was born. Every year in June, also known as Pride Month, our team comes together in partnership with Backyard on Bell and several DFW-based performance organizations to put on one of the greatest Pride shows Denton has seen to date. With performers from across the region and often the state as well, we celebrate our LGBTIQA+ community and raise support for local organizations, such as OUTreach Denton. It is our hope that through our celebrations of all walks of life, we will be able to shed more light on the hard work and beauty coming from this eclectic community.
