QUEENS SUPPORTING QUEENS: WDDI CELEBRATES PRIDE
In 2017, Friends With Benefits decided it was time to extend our reach to a community that does profound work for our community, but receives little praise or support. Thus, We Denton Drag It was born. Every year in June, also known as Pride Month, our team comes together in partnership with a local venue and several DFW-based performance organizations to put on one of the greatest Pride variety shows Denton has seen to date. With performers from across the region and often the state as well, we celebrate our LGBTIQA+ community and raise support for local organizations, such as OUTreach Denton. It is our hope that through our celebrations of all walks of life, we will be able to shed more light on the hard work and beauty coming from this eclectic community.

She consistently pushed the boundaries of drag, showcasing a unique blend of high fashion, grotesque beauty, and performance art.
Beyond her distinctive aesthetic, Yvie is celebrated for her quick wit, sharp humor, and thought-provoking commentary. She often uses her platform to advocate for authenticity, self-acceptance, and living outside conventional norms. Her candid discussions about her hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos syndrome have also brought important visibility to the condition.
Since her crowning, Yvie Oddly has continued to defy expectations, releasing music, touring globally, and solidifying her status as a truly one-of-a-kind icon in the drag world. She remains a powerful voice for individuality and the beauty of being "odd."

PRIDENTON is more than an annual Pride event in Denton. It is the dream to have an 2SLGBTQIA+ community center for Denton. Along with raising funds via the annual PRIDENTON events, we will also be trying to write grants to raise funds for this dream. We hope to provide a space at our annual PRIDENTON events in June for all 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and allies to celebrate the beautiful diversity within our communities. One way PRIDENTON lives this value is to center or highlight a population within our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities annually at our Pride events.
